An important step toward creating 21st Century learning environments took place in the fall semester of 2012. Over 10,000 iPads were deployed to Mansfield ISD high school teachers and students. We want to continue to build on our commitment to provide innovative educational opportunities.
In May 2012, the School Board approved the purchase of 10,720 iPad2 devices, equipment, and services needed to initiate the 1:1 program at all MISD high schools. Funding for this $6.4 million initiative came from the District’s fund balance. In February 2015, the PowerUp! Initiative expanded to our six middle campuses with the deployment of 5,000 additional iPad Mini devices.

The iPad program is another way to help MISD increase student engagement. When applied in a classroom setting, iPad devices can help students develop higher order thinking skills of analyzing, evaluating and creating, beyond just remembering facts and applying concepts.
