ADVANCED HIGH SCHOOL: MODULES 13 - 18
The SAMR model describes four levels of technology integration that increase in complexity and effect, from substitution which barely changes the function, to a more complex redefinition where the technology use can provide opportunities to create what would not be possible without that technology. This module will explore this concept, and help teacher plan better on how to advance within the model while planning and structuring lessons.
GOOGLE DRIVE WORKFLOW
One of the most commonly requested areas of assistance was how students can share work via Google Drive. This module will explore the ease of sharing and collaborating with your fellow teachers and students using Google Drive simplifies your workflow. Going over the functionality of Google such as docs, spreadsheets and forms and the limitless applications.
iTunes U allows you to bring your content into the digital realm. This module will give an overview of using iTunes U and teachers will discover that using this to organize this content effectively is the key to creating an efficient and worthwhile technology tool. Content must be meaningful and clear, in order to have the most impact.
MAKING GLOBAL CONNECTIONS
Technology in the hands of our students means that the classroom walls become almost theoretical; students virtually have access to everything and everyone that could possibly help them along in their learning journey. This module will explore utilizing the iPad for virtual field trips, collaboration tools, and video connections, making for an unprecedented opportunity in learning.
PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT
Building a home/school connection encourages a greater investment in and value of ongoing learning. This module will explore how iPad devices allow classrooms to be open and engaging to both parents and students. This module also covers numerous ideas and resources for teachers to find connections for their own classroom and subject area.
Introducing a tool as powerful as the iPad means that digital lifestyle habits must be addressed. This module will outline what it means to be a digital citizen, and stress the importance of teaching positive computing and online safety.
